Commissione Europea

The Commissione europea is one of the main institutions of the European Union. It is the executive body and promoter of legislative processes in the EU.

It represents and protects the interests of the European Union and proposes the adoption of legislative acts, whose approval is up to the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union.

It is responsible for the implementation of political decisions by its legislative bodies; it manages the EU programmes and funds spending. It has the power to sanction Member States which are not compliant or who are delaying the approval of laws transposing EU directives.

In April 2009 the European Commission adopted a new European strategy for youth for the next decade. The new strategy called “Investing and empowering” sees above all that young people are one of the most vulnerable social groups, especially in the current economic and financial crisis, and secondly, that our community is constantly aging and that young people are a valuable resource. As part of this strategy, the European Commission has set up a framework of initiatives named “The moving project”: FpS Media managed the press office of the EU Commission initiative in Italy.
